Balwant Kaur

A staff nurse in Faridkot, Balwant Kaur remembers how she felt waves of emotion when she heard of the death of Bhindranwale, whom she had met and conversed with on occasions prior to June 1984. Upon visiting Darbar Sahib later, she experienced both a sense of pride and loss on behalf of all the individuals that had martyred themselves. Subsequently, news of the pogroms of November 1984 had Kaur glued to the television screen at a time when she felt the truth was being lost amidst state propaganda.
