Inderjit Singh Monty

In a few short minutes, Inderjit’s interview connects June and November 1984, activism and persecution, Sikhs and other Sikhs across India.

He recounts how after the attack on June 84 his father protested, went from their home in Himachal up to Bangla Saab Gurudwara in Delhi, raising his voice against the killings, and was picked up by the police. September and October of 1984 found him in Tihar Jail. Then, on October 31, he had left home in connection with Court dates regarding the charges filed against him. He was attacked by the marauders in Delhi and for the next many days his family did not hear from him. On November 5, Inderjit learnt that his father had survived.

Inderjit’s father is now deceased. His story lives on.
