Gurcharan Singh
Having left his village in Sangrur to join the Dharam Yudh Morcha as an18/19 year old, Gurcharan Singh lived in Nanak Niwas in 1984. He was working for Akali Dal President Harcharan Singh Longowal in June 1984. His eyewitness narrative sheds some light on both the events and also the historical characters involved in the background of the operation as he recounts viewing the initial firings on June 1st, to the surrender to the Army at the end of the attack.
